Welcome to Janet Montgomery Chapter, NSDAR!

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization with thousands of chapters around the world and an ever-increasing membership.

Organized in 1909, our chapter is located in Rockville, Maryland, and was the first DAR chapter in Montgomery County. We celebrated our chapter centennial in April 2009 and helped the National Society celebrate 125 years in 2017. We are a friendly group of women from Rockville and other parts of Montgomery County with varied interests. Chapter activities include supporting several Little Free Libraries, helping with education and historic preservation projects, welcoming new citizens at naturalization ceremonies, and more. We hold monthly meetings on Saturdays from January through May and from September through December, and all are welcome.

WHO ARE TODAY'S DAR?

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 with the simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. These timeless, overarching principles keep the DAR strong and vitally relevant in this ever-changing world.

With more than 125 years of tradition, the DAR includes women with a wide variety of interests and backgrounds. We are Today's DAR!
